Interview with Tracy Elliott
The National Council of SPCAs (NSPCA) is encouraging everyone to opt for adoption instead of purchasing pets, highlighting the significant difference this choice can make for both animals and their new families. Each year, thousands of animals in South Africa end up in animal welfare organisations, hoping for a loving home. By choosing to adopt, you provide these animals with a much-deserved opportunity while also helping to tackle the increasing problem of homeless pets. When you adopt from an SPCA, you’re not only bringing a new friend into your life; you’re making a kind-hearted choice that can enhance your life in wonderful ways. DJ Ready D speaks to Tracy Elliott who is the Co Founder of Mental Proof, and Clinical Psychologist at Meaningful Minds.

There's no vehicle out there that someone won't steal.
The latest Driver and Vehicle License Agency stats reveal that there's basically no vehicle out there that someone won't try to steal. In 2023, over 100,000 vehicles were reported stolen in the UK, including ambulances, garbage trucks, street sweepers, and even a hearse, as per the latest statistics. The research data reveals that the most commonly stolen vehicle is the five-door hatchback, with a whopping 24,518 thefts. Following that are estate cars at 20,685, motorbikes at 18,673, and small vans at 11,172. Interestingly, the 2023 thefts also feature some unusual picks, like nine ambulances, seven ride-on lawnmowers, four bin lorries, three road sweepers, and two tar sprayers. The list even includes a hearse, a concrete mixer, a sewage tank emptier, and a fire engine. According to the RAC Foundation, a motoring research charity, this data shows that "there's literally no type of vehicle that someone won't steal," highlighting the surprising range of stolen vehicles reported in response to a Freedom of Information request.
