He is presenting the fourth quarter crime statistics for the period January to March this year. He says in the same period last year -  5-thousand- 727 people were murdered. However that  number has come down to 5-thousand-181, meaning there were 546 fewer lives lost in the quarter under review. The toddler went missing from her bed earlier this month while staying at the family home. The grandparents were arrested on Friday last week and appeared before the Mahwelereng Magistrate's Court on Monday on charges of child neglect. They remain in custody and are expected to return to court on Monday next week for a formal bail application. This comes as members of the March and March movement in KZN held another protest, calling on goverment to urgently deal with the issue of undocumented foreign nationals. Hundreds of residents joined the march in Pinetown west of Durban. The movement says their Protest is bearing fruit, yet they believe government should intervene more to address this issue.
