Maumela Mahuwa began acting after being encouraged by Duma Ka-Ndlovu during a talent hunt in Limpopo for The Lion King. After giving her his number, Duma connected Maumela with the opportunity that led to her role in *Muvhango*, which she joined in 1997. She's been a staple on the show for over 18 years, alongside other long-time cast members like Murabeli Rasalanavho and Sindi Dlathu.
