The Proudly SA Media Cook-Off was a celebration of South African cuisine, bringing together talented chefs, foodies, and media personalities to showcase the country's rich heritage. The Meta Conference was a thought-provoking gathering of experts, innovators, and industry leaders, focused on exploring the latest trends, challenges, and opportunities in the digital landscape.

Africa month and entertainment

We kickstart Africa Month with poet Zewande Bhengu with a powerful piece. All roads then lead to Mbombela for the 2025 Metro FM Music Awards. Thereafter, we head to Pretoria wearing our headwraps, celebrating women at the Doek on Fleek picnic and event. Celebrations are taking place all over the country and one such celebration is the Constitution Hill Human Rights Festival that is officially underway. It's a celebration of community, culture, and the power to promote human rights with live performances, inspiring talks, and incredible moments that bring people together to stand for social justice and human rights. But this isn't just about aesthetics; it's a tribute to the essence of home, family, and the wisdom passed down through generations The UNESCO recognized World Poetry Day is an opportunity to support linguistic diversity through poetic expression and an occasion to honour poets, revive oral traditions of poetry recitals and to foster the convergence between poetry and other arts such as theatre, dance, music and painting, and raise the visibility of poetry in the media. African Fashion International introduced the lead designer for AFI Privé's Autumn/Winter 2025 collection, Loice Dube, at the AFI Fashion Experience Joburg that was held at The Forum The Campus in Bryanston. The fashion experience ran in conjunction with the 9th Annual Gender Equality, Wellness, and Leadership (GEWAL) Summit, where Miss South Africa and other leaders hosted workshops in celebration of International Women's Day. She is no stranger to scooping prestigious awards in fine dining cementing her position as one of the continent's culinary stars. She has also bagged a few cookbooks under her name. We showcase South African chef Siba Mtongana at her eponymous restaurant, in Cape Town where she woowed patrons with her mouth watering dishes. Human Rights Month aims to celebrate both living and fallen heroes, and music is a powerful tool of expressing emotions and trajectories during different seasons! Known as one of our National Treasures, Mama Miriam Makeba will forever be revered for the role she played in our Nation's History, especially through music and now 3 generations later, it's become evident that her apples indeed haven't fallen too far from the tree. In studio we are joined by Mama Africa's granddaughter Zenzi Makeba-Lee, who's not only a songstress, but will also be part of her grandmother's tribute and documentary showcase right here in Braamfontein this Sunday.
