The introduction of e-commerce in South Africa was definitely the crack of dawn for many in the country. It came with convenience at a very minimal price. With the Fourth Industrial Revolution we see more businesses moving towards the digital marketing and digital selling space, which at face value can seem like a ton of convenience for the consumer, but; is the consumers right to receive goods that are of good quality still met? Lee Soobrathi – the Consumer Goods & Services Ombudsman alongside Thezi Mabuza, the Acting Commissioner of the National Consumer Commission join us in studio to unpack the discussion.

Yilungelo Lakho discussed how far the country has come in advancing consumer rights with Thezi Mabuza from the National Consumer Commission ( NCC ), Njabulo Bhembe from the National Financial Ombud Scheme South Africa ( NFO ) and Puleng Rachidi from the Consumer Goods Council of South Africa ( CGCSA ).
